OX2 Australia is proud to announce the launch of its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), marking an important milestone in our commitment to reconciliation and building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
As a renewable energy developer working on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lands across Australia, we recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of listening, learning, understanding and taking meaningful action. Our Reflect RAP represents the first formal step in embedding this commitment across our business and establishing strong foundations for the future.
Guided by Reconciliation Australia, the Reflect RAP outlines a series of actions, relationships and learning opportunities that will help OX2 Australia strengthen its understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives. Through the RAP framework, we aim to build cultural capability across our organisation and foster genuine, respectful partnerships with Traditional Custodians, First Nations businesses and communities.
Stephen Symons, Country Manager and Senior RAP Champion for OX2 Australia, said the RAP reflects the company's commitment to walking alongside First Nations peoples with humility and respect.

Our Reflect RAP is an important beginning. It provides a framework for learning, listening and creating opportunities to engage respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we continue to grow our presence in Australia."
The development of the RAP has been guided by OX2 Australia's RAP Working Group and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander advisors who have generously shared their knowledge, perspectives and guidance throughout the process.
A highlight of the RAP is the artwork created by James Dennis, a Wangkumurra and Kamilaroi man, whose piece depicts the connection between caring for Country and renewable energy. The artwork captures themes of sustainability, connection, movement and stewardship, reflecting the shared responsibility of protecting Country for future generations.
OX2 Australia extends its sincere thanks to James Dennis for creating the artwork, as well as Steve Fordham from Blackrock Industries for supporting the collaboration and Stevi Knagge from Ochre Strokes for thoughtfully incorporating the artwork throughout the RAP document.
As Australia builds a renewable energy future, First Peoples must share in the opportunities, benefits and decision-making that will shape it. We look forward to working collaboratively with Traditional Custodians and First Nations communities to ensure our projects are developed with respect, understanding and a genuine commitment to shared outcomes.
